Q&A: Ribbon Approved Closing Partners

A home buying process includes lots of different organizations and teams working together. One of the most important relationships is with a title company or closing attorney. These communications are timely and must be done in a certain order. There are ways to mitigate risk during these critical moments. One way is to use a Ribbon-Approved Closing Partner (RACP). Here’s what you need to know:

Q: What is a “Ribbon-Approved Closing Partner” (RACP)?

A: An RACP is a Title Company or Closing Attorney that has been vetted and trained on the Ribbon products.

Q: Why is using a RACP a good idea?

A: Closings move fast and are high-stress events for all parties involved. Using a RACP decreases the chance of added confusion or miscommunication, which can have a domino effect leading to delays. Working with a RACP is beneficial because:

  • We’ve created an established relationship so we can move quicker, together
  • You can be certain you’ll experience a smooth and timely transaction
  • RACPs have experience in facilitating seamless, on-time closings
  • RACPs have been vetted by Ribbon to ensure there are no hidden or excessive fees

Q: What are the qualifications for becoming a RACP?

A: Title companies and attorneys who would like to become a Ribbon Approved closing partner must go through multiple steps, including:

  • Attend a Ribbon onboarding and training
  • Agree to meet our SLAs
  • Transparently submit their rates and fees for approval by Ribbon
  • Have a proven track record of exemplary customer service

Q: Where can I find an RACP?

When making an offer through the Ribbon website or app, the offer flow automatically populates a list of Ribbon-approved closing partners. Select the closing partner of their choice and they’ll be in touch!
