In our last blog What’s going on with the housing market?”, we wrote that the market is heating up again and will start to rebound as states lift their stay at home orders. With that in mind, here are a few tips that Ribbon recommends on how you can inexpensively spruce up your home to maximize its value.

Rearrange your furniture for a quick update

Give a room a fresh new look. Maybe it’s repositioning your favorite armchair for a better room flow or adding a lamp to your bedroom for some additional light. Little tweaks like this may make it easier for homebuyers to visualize layouts.

Add some curb appeal

Make your outdoor space as inviting as your indoor one with new plantings. Create sight lines, develop texture, and add lushness to your garden by planting shrubs. Add outdoor seating, to create an additional living area.
Have a great front porch? Our Ribbon expert, Aleks, also recommends picking up some pre-potted plants at a local hardware store to add a pop of color.

Upgrade your kitchen

Stay with us on this one. We constantly hear from buyers that the kitchen is the most important room when purchasing a new home. Buyers want something that is inviting, updated, and comfortable for the whole family.

You don’t need to redo the whole thing. There are a few easy ways to create a modern kitchen without the price tag. Try swapping out your cabinet knobs or restyling open shelves with dishes and label-less jars. Maybe add a piece of art for some added character. Your kids artwork is perfect as well! And, this is more of a splurge, but, if you’re willing to spend some additional money, updating your fixtures can work wonders.
