We know there is a lot of uncertainty in the housing market right now with the unprecedented spread of COVID-19. However, our data shows that many buyers are still, or newly, interested in homes. Here are a few tips from our experts on how to find opportunities for your clients and your business.

Move your open houses online

Online open houses will become a long-term staple in the industry — so they’re worth investing in now. While it may sound like more work, this format can actually be pretty informal and often attracts even more qualified buyers than an in-person viewing. The more you do them, the easier it will become. Here are a few tips to start.

  1. Use a high quality cell phone (an iPhone or Android will do the trick) or camera. If you choose to use a phone, try to go for that “I can’t believe this was taken with a phone!” clarity and natural light.
  2. Distribute your videos on all your social media channels and update your online listings. Use relevant #hashtags to start engaging in online conversations so other users can easily find your content!

Focus on nurturing your relationships

Pick a year (ex: 2015) and send clients you worked with in that year a handwritten note, an email, or a message on social media. You never know if they could be looking to make a move or know someone who is. Just let them know you are thinking of them and how grateful you are for their business.

Be a resource for your clients

During this time, be sure to keep your clients up to date on any information that provides insight into the real estate market, especially if COVID-19 is affecting their home buying or selling process. Reassure your clients by monitoring the current situation and providing them with real time, factual updates.
